As one of the best restaurants in Dallas, we pride ourselves on having a menu that’s not only delicious but also compliments our extensive wine list. Our chef and owner Tony Street takes great care to ensure our menu is fresh, exciting and in season. With fall approaching, we want to recommend a few wines on our menu that are not only in-season, but compliment our favorite dishes beautifully. Whether you’re hosting a private party, looking for a romantic restaurant, or simply enjoying dinner, we have a wine that will suit your taste and your dish!
Dallas Steakhouse Food and Wine Pairings
Viognier is made for dishes that are packed with flavor! This white-wine grape originated in France and is known for being a very crisp wine with hints of floral for an intriguing taste. This wine pairs well with our Specialty Steak and Lobster dish and our Chicken Fried Lobster depending on the dryness of the Viognier.
Aged Chardonnay Pairings
The flavor of a particular bottle of Chardonnay depends on how its aged and where it comes from. Knowing this, pairing it with the correct food based on it’s origin and age is important. For an unoaked Chardonnay, we recommend pairing it with our Red Chili Rubbed Salmon. For an aged, oaked Chardonnay, our Smoked Sweet Corn Bisque is a great choice!
Wine Choice for a Group
Pinot Noir originated in France’s Burgundy region but has made it’s way to other parts of the world suitable for producing the wine. Like Chardonnay, Pinot comes in many styles from light and fruity to mature and bold. This wine is the perfect wine to serve to a group because it pleases everyone! A rich, full-bodied Pinot pairs nicely with our Venison Roll-ups or our Wild Game Platter.
Dry Wine for Dinner
A Cabernet Franc is a light, laid-back wine that pairs well with many things that most Dallas steakhouses have on their menus. This wine likely originated in the Basque country of France, though no one can be certain. It goes beautifully with our Grilled Portobello Mushrooms and Onions as well as any of our perfectly grilled steaks. This dry wine is a fantastic dinner choice!
Classic Fall Wine
Another great fall wine is a classic Merlot. In recent years, it’s gotten a bad name because of the cheap varieties popping up on the market. Make no mistake though, this is a wonderful wine! Similar to other wines, it can be either very light or dry and full-bodied depending on the climate and region the grapes were grown in. A dry Merlot pairs well with a steak or something bursting with flavor like our Venison Chops.
